— Junior high school wrestling player Tyler Mosely has been suspended by the Eastlake-Southwestern Illinois High School Wrestling Association pending the outcome of an investigation into an incident involving a teammate, sources told ESPN Crave Sports.
The incident was reported Friday night.
Mosely, 19, is a senior from Springfield, Ill., who has been wrestling since middle school and is one of seven Eastlake students in the state.
Mosey was scheduled to wrestle Saturday night against Eastlake’s rival, Central High School, but had to cancel the match due to his concussion, sources said.
Mosesly is a sophomore who was a member of the team that won the East Lake State Wrestling Association’s Junior Class AAA championship last year.
Mosley had a good season last year at Eastlake, which ranked fourth nationally in attendance, averaging 6,500 fans per game.
Mosingly has made headlines for his athletic ability in the past.
He was one of five players to earn the East Coast Wrestling Championship last summer and he competed in the NCAA Division III championships this past year.
He was one point shy of winning the title this past spring and was considered the favorite to win the award in the next state championship.
He also earned the state championship in the 2014 season.
