The first season, to be released Monday, will show students and teachers in the Greek city of Athens attending a high school football game.
The series, which aired from 1997 to 2000, starred the students of Athens’ Allatoona Academy, as well as its principal, and was a hit for the Greek television network.
The show’s popularity made it the highest-rated show on Greek television for 13 years, reaching 11.8 million viewers in the first quarter of 2018.
It also won the Athens International Film Festival’s award for best non-fiction film.
The show was filmed in Greece and features performances by the students and a Greek actor who will portray the principal.
The students of the Allatoonan High School have to attend an event called “Allatoonas Final Battle” on Monday night, when they face off against a team of students of a different school, according to the Athens-based news outlet Aotearoa Times.
